Behind the scenes with Aura Casting and Mac House

Aura Casting recently had the pleasure of casting ten actors for a series of Robinhood spots in partnership with the production team at Mac House. These projects blended the brand with entertainment in a way that was informative, sharp, and engaging, with content spanning both commercial and social platforms.

Mac House is a team we love working with. Their creative direction and clear communication always make for a smooth collaboration, and they consistently bring out the best in everyone involved. From the beginning, they had a strong vision for the characters, which made it easy for us to dive right in.

The scripts called for actors who could deliver with clarity, relatability, and a touch of charm. These weren’t just background figures! They were key voices meant to connect with a wide audience. We were looking for character actors with natural presence and strong instincts. It was important that each role felt distinct and grounded, even in short-form content.

We received over 750 submissions (!) and reviewed each self tape with care.

All casting was done virtually, and there were no callbacks. Every actor submitted for a specific role, and our casting team relied on their tapes to make final decisions. What stood out were the performances that felt effortless. The best talent had a clear understanding of the material, brought their own perspective to it, and didn’t overthink it. That kind of authenticity always shines through.

Some spots were shot on location, others on green screen, so flexibility was key. The final cast brought the scripts to life without needing rewrites or adjustments. Each performance aligned closely with the vision set out by Mac House, which speaks to the strength of both the writing and the talent.

These spots are starting to roll out across various platforms. The first one is above, and there’s another on our YouTube channel now! If one pops up in your feed, take a second look. You might recognize some of our work.
